| Plot:After the brutal death of a friend,
| |
| | the first of the gamers dies at the hands
|
| a group of friends find themselves in
| |
| | of the games countess, Sophia Bush's
|
| possession of a video-game called
| |
| | character begins to draw conclusions
|
| 'Stay-Alive', a blood-curdling true story
| |
| | connecting the eerie circumstances
|
| of a 17th century noblewoman known as
| |
| | surrounding his death, to that of past
|
| 'The Blood Countess'. However, after
| |
| | incident involving a few murdered local
|
| playing the game when they know they
| |
| | girls. "Stay Alive" slinks on blood,
|
| shouldn't, the friends realize that once
| |
| | guts, and other related nastiness, and
|
| they die in the game - they die for real.
| |
| | instead relies on it's strong solid
|
| As their numbers begin dropping and as
| |
| | mystery aspect. It is after all a pg-13
|
| they begin dying in the ways they died in
| |
| | flick, and while some horror fans might
|
| the game, the remaining friends realize
| |
| | be turned off to the fact that the film
|
| they must defeat the Blood Countess or
| |
| | is shy with it's graphicness, the mystery
|
| accept their fates.Cast: Jon Foster,
| |
| | of what is occuring is so engaging, it
|
| Samaire Armstrong, Frankie Muniz, Sophia
| |
| | acts as a distraction from the fact we
|
| Bush, Jimmi Simpson, Adam Goldberg, Milo
| |
| | aren't seeing people chopped to pieces on
|
| Ventimiglia.My Thoughts:What it lacks in
| |
| | screen. "Stay Alive" also manages to keep
|
| style when it comes to the kills, it
| |
| | Ms. Bathory well hidden most of the way,
|
| makes up for with an original
| |
| | not fully showing the countess until near
|
| story.Review:Movies like "Stay Alive"
| |
| | the middle of the movie...where one
|
| usually have me leaving the theater going
| |
| | female character in peril utters a pretty
|
| "what the hell was that?". But oddly
| |
| | bad ass one liner before she's offed, in
|
| enough, that's not the way I felt about
| |
| | what is about the only graphic or
|
| "Stay Alive" after seeing it. While the
| |
| | semi-graphic death scene in the whole
|
| movie did have it's problems from the
| |
| | movie. The countess character is pretty
|
| standpoint of being a balls to the wall
| |
| | creepy looking, and makes for a fantastic
|
| horror movie, it works really well as a
| |
| | villain, especially because she sports a
|
| dark mystery with horror elements
| |
| | pair of rusty hedgeclipper like weapons
|
| sprinkled in. The jist of "Stay Alive"
| |
| | in one hand when she pops up on
|
| centers around a weird video game that
| |
| | screen...and has a very demented twisted
|
| someone created and found a way to send
| |
| | look to her. Bell does show a weakness in
|
| out into the world. The bad part of the
| |
| | his writing though when his story nears
|
| game is, if you die in it, you die for
| |
| | the end, which is where the remaining
|
| real, and weirdest of all, you die in
| |
| | gamers after discovering a way to destroy
|
| real life the way you died in the game. I
| |
| | the blood countess, visit the house of
|
| admit this movie would've been hella lame
| |
| | their dead friend to do so. Many things
|
| if the game started frying people or
| |
| | take place in the final act that don't
|
| killing them in freak accidents ala
| |
| | make sense and work to create more
|
| "Final Destination", but writer William
| |
| | questions while giving little to no
|
| Brent Bell is smart enough to give us a
| |
| | answers. That doesn't do much for the
|
| villain or should I say villainess that
| |
| | story since there were already many
|
| we can identify with, in the legendary
| |
| | unanswered questions from act 1 and 2
|
| countess Elizibeth Bathory. For those of
| |
| | that had yet to be answered - and for
|
| you not familiar with this historical
| |
| | those who didn't pick up on it early on
|
| ghoulstess, she killed countless young
| |
| | in the movie or who just weren't paying
|
| women back in the dark ages and bathed in
| |
| | attention, the films ending manages to
|
| their blood, believing that doing so
| |
| | square away one of "Stay Alive"'s biggest
|
| would grant her eternal youth. The dark
| |
| | mysteries for you all. Despite it's
|
| aspect of the movie makes it's presence
| |
| | story-flawed final act, "Stay Alive"
|
| felt early on because when victims number
| |
| | manages to "Stay Alive" (no pun intended)
|
| 1,2, and 3 are claimed, it's by the
| |
| | with an interesting and intriguing story
|
| countess character that appears in the
| |
| | and a pretty creepy looking and viciously
|
| game as it's boss villainess, if you
| |
| | wicked villainess, which manages to
|
| will. The mystery and burden of one of
| |
| | ensure that the viewer will be able to
|
| the first victims death falls upon his
| |
| | "Stay Awake".Pros: A very Dark,sinister,
|
| avid gamer friends Hutch (Jon Foster),
| |
| | intriguing, and interesting story. Pretty
|
| Abigail (Samaire Armstrong), Phineus
| |
| | good acting, great villainess, and nice
|
| Bantum (Jimmi Simpson), his sister
| |
| | sceneries especially in the movies climax
|
| October (Sophia Bush), Miller (Adam
| |
| | which shifts locations from a large
|
| Goldberg), and Swink (Frankie Muniz).
| |
| | house, to a cemetary, to a forest. The
|
| Bell manages to keep the mystery of the
| |
| | ending was also a total
|
| film fresh, dark, and intriguing as the
| |
| | curveball.Cons:Again the story is too
|
| gamers soon start playing the game in
| |
| | open ended and alot of questions about
|
| honor of their deceased buddy, and begin
| |
| | the countess are left unanswered at the
|
| to unlock it's dark secrets. One of the
| |
| | conclusion. Another graphic death or two
|
| biggest ones being about countess
| |
| | would've helped as well, too many cut
|
| Bathory, and just how the heck can she be
| |
| | aways.Overall:I liked it alot more than I
|
| back as a video game character? Although
| |
| | though I would, and I think you might
|
| this all sounds pretty cheesy in some
| |
| | too. It's not a splatterfest, but in
|
| ways, watching it all play out on screen
| |
| | terms of it's strong story, it's a movie
|
| with these particular actors is quite
| |
| | that will leave you thinking after it's
|
| entertaining and creepy in alot of ways.
| |
| | all over, and is mostly for the horror
|
| Alot is revealed about the countess such
| |
| | fan that can appreciate a good mystery
|
| as how she killed her victims, and when
| |
| | with strong horror elements included.Mr.
